Creating better speakers since 1949, Quincy Toastmasters #675 is a fun, friendly, and easy way to learn public speaking. Meetings are held every Monday at 7:00 pm at the Fore River Clubhouse, 16 Nevada Road, Quincy, MA 02169 from September 1st through June 30.

The Adams National Historical Park offers tours of the Presidential Birthplaces and Peace Field daily from April 19 - November 10. During open season, the Visitor Center is open seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All Guided Tours begin at the Visitor Center. The first tour starts at 9:15 a.m. and the final tour starts at 3:15 p.m. and leave every hour. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. Weekends in particular can be very busy, so the earlier you can be there the better!

The Adams Academy, built of Quincy granite, is an early and important example of Gothic revival architecture in America. Endowed by John Adams as a preparatory school for boys, it was built on the site where the legendary patriot John Hancock was born. Now home to the Quincy Historical Society whose museum showcases the city’s history from Native American times up through the early 21st century and archives are a major resource for information on local and area history.

Enjoy the permanent exhibits, shop for local ephemera in the gift shop or dedicate some time to studying local and military history or investigate your family history in the extensive archive of genealogical records.

Join the Friends of the Blue Hills to enjoy the outdoors with your children during our bi-weekly Peek a Blue Hikes series. These hikes will occur every other Tuesday at 11:00 am, weather permitting. Bring your tots to Houghton’s Pond for a leisurely stroll to explore the outdoors. Participants will enjoy healthy snacks, juice and water and everyone is invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the hike concludes.

The Church of the Presidents is the only building in the United States to house the final resting place of two Presidents. President John Adams, First Lady Abigail Adams, their son President John Quincy Adams and Louisa Catherine Adams are interred in the family crypt underneath the front entrance to the building.

On the birthday of every deceased President there is a wreath presented at their gravesite in the name of the current President of the United States. This custom began during the Johnson administration, so this will be the 47th time that we have honored John Adams who would be celebrating his 279th birthday.

Home to the Weymouth Historical Society,the homestead houses a genealogical library with Weymouth records from the 1600’s, a shoe shop which is original to the homestead, a military room with memorabilia from the Revolutionary War through World War I, and a carriage house with antique sleighs, farming and ice harvesting tools. Open Wednesdays 9am - 1pm , excluding holidays or by appointment.
