Quincy Food Truck & Music Festival
Mayor Koch announced that The James Montgomery Band will be the Food Truck & Music Festival Headliner. “We are thrilled to have a world class entertainer like James Montgomery and his band headline the festival.” Koch said.
Quincy’s first annual Food Truck & Music Festival, Saturday, September 30th, from 12 to 6 PM. The festival will take place on Codington St. in Quincy Center, and on Quincy High School’s front lawn. The festival is FREE and open to all and will feature over 20 food trucks and a few boutique type trucks and tents, along with an eclectic mix of music for all on the main stage and kids stage.
Mayor Koch stated, "These are the type of cultural events that the community desires. We hope to put together a signature Quincy event every month as we move toward Quincy’s 400th anniversary. It’s also a great event to bring others to our historic and vibrant city and an event like this, just off the Quincy Center T is a great way to do that.”
The mainstage will host live music from 12 to 6 PM, closing with The James Montgomery Band. Montgomery has toured with major artists, including Aerosmith, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, the Allman Brothers, Steve Miller and others. He has jammed on stage with B.B.King, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Jr. Wells, James Cotton, Charlie Daniels, Greg Allman, Laverne Baker, Patti LaBelle, and Peter Wolf among others, including an impromptu session with Mick Jagger at New York's "Trax". Other festival acts will include, Trusty Sidekick, Liz Bills and more.
The Boston Canons professional lacrosse team will also be at the festival with demonstrations.
For those 21 and over, there will be a beer garden with several craft beers provided by the Pour Garden truck and Foodzilla on Wheels. Other trucks will include Gotta Q Barbecue, Just Say Cheese, Montillio’s, Ben & Jerrys, Teri Tummy Asian, Fenway Sausages, Jamaca Me Hungry, Spicy Salaa, Tracey Girl Waffle, Travelin Bones and Much More!
