Starting with the City’s Signature Flag Day Celebration on Saturday, June 16, Discover Quincy is partnerting with many local organizations to showcase Quincy’s arts and culture, community, educations, historic and recreational assets. Each day will feature at least one free event, while some events may accept donations and others may have an admission fee. Click here to review the 2019 schedule of events.

The History and Visitors Program at the Church of the Presidents offers guided tours of the historic United First Parish Church and the crypt of the Adams Presidents Monday – Saturday 11 am – 4 pm, and Sundays Noon – 4 pm.

The City of Quincy offers free guided walking tours, seasonally, starting inside Old City Hall. A walk through Quincy Center takes you on a voyage through time from the earliest colonial days, to the era of the Adams, Quincy and Hancock families, and to Quincy's decades of the national center of granite quarrying and building. Adams and Hancock Streets in Quincy Center are part of one of the oldest roads in America.

Join Sara Georgini from the Massachusetts Historical Society as she discusses the religious lives, particularly the women, of the Adams Family. This special program includes a talk with Sara, as well as a visit to the Stone Library to see physical representations of some of the Household Gods. Book signing to follow. Sara Georgini, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., earned her doctorate in history from Boston University. She is series editor for The Papers of John Adams, part of the Adams Papers editorial project based at the Massachusetts Historical Society in Boston.

Share your talent with a friendly audience at Thomas Crane Public Library's acoustic open mic night held on the last Monday of the month, excluding holidays. Play an original or a cover song, read an excerpt or a poem, perform a dramatic monologue, debut your stand-up comedy skit or engage in any amateur style performance. All musicians, poets and performers are encouraged to participate and all ages are welcome. One microphone will be available but no other sound equipment is supplied. If your instrument requires amplification, such as an electric bass, you will need to bring it.

Creating better speakers since 1949, Quincy Toastmasters #675 is a fun, friendly, and easy way to learn public speaking. Meetings are held every Monday at 7:00 pm at the Fore River Clubhouse, 16 Nevada Road, Quincy, MA 02169 from September 1st through June 30.
