In the second event in the Society’s history of popular culture series, Quincy’s own pulp novelist, comic book writer, and literary historian, Will Murray, will discuss how the tales, heroes, and tropes of pulp magazines and comic books evolved into today’s “Golden Age of Superheroes,” the dominant entertainment genre in movies and television. A 1971 North Quincy High graduate, Murray has authored scores of novels and short stories, featuring such classic pulp fiction stalwarts as Doc Savage, King Kong, Tarzan, and the Phantom.
