Art Walk Fridays
Discover Quincy is hosting six free family-friendly arts and entertainment events featuring pop up art galleries, live music, performances, lawn games and after hours museum access from 5-8pm.
This week's Discover Quincy's Art Walk Friday features the Norfolk Downs business district in North Quincy. With over twenty restaurants within just four blocks, we've decided to feature this area's culinary and cultural diversity on Friday, July 8, from 5-8pm. Burke's Seafood will host a block party on the Vane Street patio with outdoor dining, seafood specials, cash bar and live Irish Music by Paddy's Return and an Irish Step Dancing performance by the Brady Academy at 6pm. Local author Kevin Glennon brings his Vikings, Vampires and Mailmen to The Irish Pub for book readings and signature merchandise where you can grab a pint and try their signature Chicken Curry or other traditional Irish Fare. JP Fuji Group offers specials at sushi favorite B Cafe, Hot Pot go to Shabu Restaurant and frozen treats at Yo Cha. The North Quincy Community Center will be transformed into a pop up art gallery with local artists including Cheryl Guerino, Jennifer Keany, Jessica Grace Leahy, Mike Hanson, Pam Korejwa and the North Quincy High School Photography Club. The North Quincy Branch of the Thomas Crane Public Library will be open be open for special hours with its regular full service (books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, etc plus computers/internet. ) and children’s activities. There are over eighteen restaurants within the business district open for dinner this Friday night. Come experience the culture and cuisine in North Quincy. Final Schedules for each Art Walk Friday will be available at participating locations and posted online as of the Tuesday prior to the event. Artists and performers interested in participating are welcome to apply online.
