21 Years a Folded Flag
Richard Fitts Jr., a Gold Star Son from Abington, lost his Green Beret father, Richard Fitts Sr., in Laos in 1968 on a secret mission when he was just two years old. It took years to have him confirmed Killed in Action and even longer to have closure and see him laid to rest. Together with Quincy documentary film maker Rudy Childs, Richard Jr. tells the story of seaching for his father, his service, and the mission that killed him, in an effort to get to the know his namesake and document his family's legacy.
More than a Gold Star family story and more than a military story, this is a story that will resonate with everyone who has ever tried to get to know their own father, anyone trying to find out about themselves and their origins. Watch a trailer.
Richard Fitts Jr. and Rudy Childs will be in attendance for this special showing to answer questions and talk about this story and the making of the film.
