September in Merrymount Park

September in the Park kicked off with the arrival of the Quincy Farmers Market to Pageant Field effective Friday, September 4th.  An open-air public market that sells fresh produce directly to consumers. At 33, they’re one of the oldest markets in the Commonwealth. Open Fridays, 11:30am-5:30pm through November 20th. Live music, noon to 2pm.

The signature event of the Quincy Art Association, the 18th Annual Arts Fest will be held on the weekend of September 19 and 20.  This year, the Quincy Symphony Orchestra will perform an outdoor concert at Adams Field on the evening of September 19th.  All are invited to attend the Arts Fest and concert; both events are free.

The Inaugural Quincy Food Truck Festival featuring the Sam Adams Beer Garden and the Adams Open-Air Market will take place on Saturday, September 26th. Come check out a delicious array of cuisine from over 25 food trucks from the area. Featuring a mouthwatering variety of dishes, there will be something for everyone, and of course delicious Samuel Adams beer! Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to picnic and enjoy the scene. The event will run from Noon – 5pm (VIP hour 11am – Noon)! There will be facepainting, an art market, and music for your to enjoy!This event is dog friendly, but they must remain leashed at all times. Advance tickets recommended as the event is expected to sell out.

The City of Presidents 5K Road Race will be held the following day on Sunday, September 27th. The 3.1 mile course spans the perimeter of the park with scenic views of the Wollaston Beach Reservation and Black’s Creek. Proceeds from the event will benefit Quincy Public Schools’ health & wellness programs. Following the race, the Quincy Public Schools culinary students will cater a cookout for participants, volunteers and their families at Adams Field. Awards ceremony, games, DJ, bouncy houses and fun giveaways are all part of the post-race festivities at the field.
