Ride the ferry from Quincy to Boston's Rowes Wharf, Spectacle Island & Winthrop

Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 3:51pm

The Marina Bay Ferry is a unique partnership between the City of Quincy, the Town of Winthrop and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to provide water transportation from Squantum Point Park in Quincy to Rowes Wharf in downtown Boston, the Boston Harbor Islands and the Town of Winthrop. The 73-passenger "Valkyrie," owned and operated by the Town of Winthrop, will make stops at Quincy’s Marina Bay/Squantum Point Park beginning August 1 and continuing through at least October. In addition to landing at Rowes Wharf in the heart of downtown, the ferry will also make trips to scenic Spectacle Island and Winthrop. It's the ultimate goal of local officials to bring ferry service full-time to Marina Bay/Squantum Point Park, and this innovative beta program will help collect data on ridership trends and uncover potential opportunities and challenges for the future. So change-up your commute, take a weekend trip to the North End, or spend some time walking Spectacle Island - and enjoy a beautiful ride at the same time. Although you may purchase tickets on board, we recomend purchasing tickets in advance. For more information, please visit MBFerry.com
