Call for Artists and Businesses to participate in Quincy's Summer Art Walk Event Series

Thursday, March 17, 2016 - 9:36am

After running a successful Summer Pop Up Art Gallery  and Holiday Pop Up Artisan Shop in vacant Quincy Center Retail spaces in 2015, Discover Quincy is offering local artists an opportunity to show and sell their work during our Summer Fridays Art Walk Event Series in 2016. We are currently working on the details and welcome volunteers and ideas. Our intent is to bring a FREE art event to the public on six Friday nights this summer and showcase various business districts in our community.

Wednesday, March 23, 6:30-7:30pm: Informational meeting/brainstorming session at the Quincy Chamber of Commerce, 180 Old Colony Ave, 3rd Floor, Wollaston.
Friday, April 15: application priority deadline (as this is our first time doing this, we will leave the applications open)
Monday, May 2: accepted artists/businesses notified

EVENT DATES: Fridays June 17 (Quincy Center) and 24, July 8, 15, 22 and 29. Each week will feature a different business district: Art Walk Events will be scheduled in North Quincy, Quincy Point, West Quincy, and Wollaston. (time tentatively 5-9pm).

There is no fee for participation. If artwork is sold at the event, Discover Quincy requires the artist to provide a 10% commission.
