After running a successful Summer Pop Up Art Gallery  and Holiday Pop Up Artisan Shop in vacant Quincy Center Retail spaces in 2015, Discover Quincy is hosting six free family-friendly arts and entertainment events featuring pop up art galleries, live music, performances, lawn games and after hours museum access starting June 17 in Quincy Center from 5-8pm.

Friday, June 17 - Quincy Center

Participating Museums open free to the public include Adams Crypt at United First Parish Church, Adams National Historical Visitor Center, Dorothy Quincy Homestead, Hancock Cemetery, Old Town Hall, and Quincy Historic Society. Pop Up Art Galleries at Coffee Break Cafe, Iron Furnace, Presidents Place where artists will show and sell their work. At Craig's Cafe, amateur artists have entered their Paint Nite project and visitors will judge categories including drank too much, maybe when you retire, and “Masterpiece”. Life size lawn games like checkers, chess, cornhole, and connect four will be in various locations. The Thomas Crane Library offers a slate of free programs for children and adults. Entertainment includes live music and theater on the Thomas Crane Library Lawn and a Traditional Lion Dance and Kung Fu Performance presented by Grandasia. Three area establishments keep the party going with Art Walk After Hours; Vibecasters playing classic rock at Cagney's Restaurant & Pub, DJ Stenny playing Top 40 Music at Iron Furnace, and Traditional Irish Music with Malin at Paddy Barry's. Click here for our full schedule

This Art Walk Friday Series features business districts city wide. Each event is held 5-8pm. 

  • June 24 - Wollaston,  Josiah Quincy House, Center Stage Performing Arts Studio Presents “A Patriotic Salute to America”.Quincy Rocks Concert at Ruth Gordon Ampitheater
  • July 8 - North Quincy, Culture & Cuisine 
  • July 15 - West Quincy, Adams Birthplaces & Franklin Street Business District; Historic Granite Walking Tour & Willard Street between Curry Hardware and the Common Market Restaurants
  • July 22 - Quincy Point, USS Salem
  • July 29 - Quincy Center, same museums, different entertainment lineup, and additional participating locations

Art Walk Fridays are held in partnership with the Discover Quincy 50 Days of FREEdom program series; offering 50+ free events in 50 days, June 11 - July 30. Final Schedules for each Art Walk Friday will be available at participating locations and posted online as of the Tuesday prior to the event. Artists and performers interested in participating are welcome to apply below. Applications are still being accepted. There is no fee for participation. Artists who sell their work will be requested to pay a 10% commission.
