City of Presidents

Historic Quincy is the only city in America to produce two U.S. presidents: John Adams and his son, John Quincy Adams. Visit the Adams National Historical Park, which includes the quaint colonial birthplaces of both Adams presidents as well as "Peacefield," the stately Adams Mansion that served as the summer White House and home to Adams family descendants until the 20th century.

You'll also want to visit United First Parish Church, the final resting place of John Adams, John Quincy Adams and their wives.

Boston on a Budget:

Located just a short subway ride from downtown Boston, Quincy offers family and budget travelers an affordable way to enjoy Boston's amenities while avoiding downtown hotel rates. Quincy also offers lots of family-friendly vacation activities, including whale watches, harbor cruises and the Adams National Historical Park, where admission for adults is just $3 and kids under 16 are free!

Marina Bay:

With its Nantucket-style boardwalk, charming boutiques, superb restaurants and breathtaking views of the Boston skyline, Marina Bay has become Boston's premier waterfront entertainment destination. Enjoy cocktails, billiards and volleyball at WaterWorks, fine dining at Siro's or any number of Marina Bay restaurants, or just stroll the boardwalk and enjoy the sunsets and scenic vistas of this picturesque harborside community.

Recreation:

From the shores of Wollaston Beach to the top of the Blue Hills, Quincy offers recreational activities for the whole family. Go hiking and rock climbing in the historic Quincy quarries. Play a round of golf at the world-class Granite Links Golf Club. Or set sail for a whale watch or harbor cruise along Quincy's 27 miles of coastline.

Birthplace of the American Dream:

Quincy's nickname refers not only to the birthplaces of John Adams and John Quincy Adams located here, but to the fact that two famous entrepreneurial companies got their start in Quincy: Howard Johnson's and Dunkin' Donuts! After visiting Quincy's many colonial treasures, stop by the very first Dunkin' Donuts shop in the world, still in operation today! Also born in Quincy: the popular World War II catchphrase, "Kilroy Was Here!"
