Starting with the City’s Signature Flag Day Celebration on Saturday, June 10, Discover Quincy is partnerting with many local organizations to showcase Quincy’s arts and culture, community, educations, historic and recreational assets. Each day will feature at least one free event, while some events may accept donations and others may have an admission fee.

Saturday, January 27, 2018 - 5:00pm

Every Saturday evening, excluding holiday weekends, New England Wildlife Center sponsors the Catbird Café; the South Shore’s longest running open mic, playing original music. The Catbird Café is hosted by Steve Martin and his wife Cathy Donlon.  Steve is a well-known musician throughout the region and brings a thematic consistency between the care of wildlife and music.  Participants in the Catbird Café range in age from young elementary school students to octogenarians, from singing families to poets and belly dancers.  Sign up to perform starts at 4:30 and performing starts at 5:00 p.m.

Share your talent with a friendly audience at Thomas Crane Public Library's acoustic open mic night held on the last Monday of the month, excluding holidays. Play an original or a cover song, read an excerpt or a poem, perform a dramatic monologue, debut your stand-up comedy skit or engage in any amateur style performance. All musicians, poets and performers are encouraged to participate and all ages are welcome. One microphone will be available but no other sound equipment is supplied. If your instrument requires amplification, such as an electric bass, you will need to bring it.

Home to the Weymouth Historical Society,the homestead houses a genealogical library with Weymouth records from the 1600’s, a shoe shop which is original to the homestead, a military room with memorabilia from the Revolutionary War through World War I, and a carriage house with antique sleighs, farming and ice harvesting tools. Open Wednesdays 9am - 1pm , excluding holidays or by appointment.

For over fifty years the South Shore Neptunes dive club has attracted members from all over eastern Massachusetts. Today our membership includes over 130 sports divers ranging in age from 16 to 70. Our members occupations include students, fishermen, business executives and commercial divers. While some of our members have been diving for years, others are brand new to the sport. Club members can introduce you to a new world of divers and diving experiences. The cost of membership is low, and the benefits are many.
