For over fifty years the South Shore Neptunes dive club has attracted members from all over eastern Massachusetts. Today our membership includes over 130 sports divers ranging in age from 16 to 70. Our members occupations include students, fishermen, business executives and commercial divers. While some of our members have been diving for years, others are brand new to the sport. Club members can introduce you to a new world of divers and diving experiences. The cost of membership is low, and the benefits are many.

The City's annual Veterans Day Parade and Observance will be held on November 11.  The parade steps off at 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Quincy Avenue and Scammel Street, and proceeds on Hancock Street to the Adams Academy. Mayor Thomas Koch will join Master of Ceremonies Larry Norton, president of the Vietnam Combat Veterans Combined Armed Forces, for the annual observance at the Adams Academy. The Sons of the American Legion, Morrissette Post, will hold its special Veterans Day "Flags For Veterans Island" ceremony on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the island at School and Pleasant Streets.

Built in 1685, the Abigail Adams Birthplace was home to this exceptional woman for the first twenty years of her life until she married John Adams in 1764. It has survived two relocations and restoration work was recently completed. The birthplace is maintained by the Abigail Adams Historical Society and open for tours the second Sunday of the month from May to November.

The 64th Annual Quincy's Christmas Parade Theme for 2016 is “Traditions of Christmas”. Come watch the marching bands, floats, costumed characters, antique vehicles, and Santa's traditional fire truck ride to get in the holiday spirit at one of the largest parades in the Commonwealth. This holiday tradition is often attended by mulitple generations of families who usually have a favorite spot along the route; Hancock Street between School Street and East Squantum Street. The parade kicks off at School Street intersection starting at 12:30 pm.
