Call for Artists for The Gallery, Summer Fridays Art Pop Up in Quincy
Discover Quincy will be operating a Pop Up Gallery this summer and is looking for local artists of all ages to show and sell their work at no cost. As part of its program series "50 Days of FREEdom," Discover Quincy will host THE GALLERY on Friday nights this summer (see below for details) in Quincy Center. In 2015, we utilized a vacant building for a pop up gallery and welcomed thousands of visitors from 66 communities in MA and 17 states. This summer, we will be using a different Quincy Center location. Discover Quincy is partnering with Woodward School to utilize their Wesner Hall building at 20 Greenleaf Street. Applicants will be juried and accepted until all spaces are filled. Past participants of Discover Quincy Pop Up Art events are guaranteed acceptance if paperwork is submitted by the priority deadline. We are also partnering with Future Artists, the Quincy Art Association, Road to Responsibility, North Quincy High School Photography Program and Woodward School. We encourage artists of all ages to apply for our family friendly show. Each week, Discover Quincy will also provide space at THE GALLERY for artist vendors to show and sell unique, handmade works. Acceptance is based upon the quality and originality of the work as well as booth presentation. In order to ensure a balanced and varied selection of exhibitors, we may limit the number of exhibitors accepted in any single genre. This is an exciting opportunity for local artists to share (and sell!) their work within the up-and-coming art community in Quincy. Admission to THE GALLERY will be free and open to the public.
